College Round 2

Second semester of USU via pictures and scattered thoughts:

Started the semester off with finally getting to move into Chloe and Megan's apartment (many prayers were answered) and doing Camp Rock puzzles that cost us 1 cent at the dollar store (Tender mercies).

Racquetball (Garrett, Chris, me, Kat)

"Let's do something fun" turned into bundling up and going geocaching.

Listening to Elder Cook speak in the spectrum... Awesome...

Trying to see what I would look like with long hair... haha fail! I think this was proceeded with Mario Kart and Just Dance. Most nights are.

Main street extravaganza. Beware, everything closes at 6.

Chocolate from Bluebird cafe is really always a good idea. (Go for the sea salt caramel.)

Trip to Hardware Ranch to see the elk. (We party real hard on Saturdays). The best part of the trip was our tour guide. "You mean to tell me tomorrow is Fast Sunday?"

Attempting to continue our tradition of taking a picture for every holiday:
2015- Happy New Year

Happy MLK Day

Happy Groundhog Day

90% of our time is spent in the shirt. (Surprise, surprise... Chloe can hold her own in the farting department. We have yet to hear Megan do anything disgusting.)

Church.

We were proud of our SuperBowl dinner

And bean dip.

The Hawks disappointed me, but Chase was really proud that I watched the whole game.

Ran some track meets in Boise... 10:57 for the 3k and 5:35 mile.

Sometimes when it's 50 degrees outside in February you have to go up the canyon and read scriptures and take naps and laugh at Chloe because she is really afraid of geese.

Temple trip success, temple picture fail.

Thoughts:

-Quote from Chloe: "It isn't a day in college if you haven't cried."
-Chlo and I go through a tub of ice cream every single week without fail.
-The best memories are made at 1 AM.
-Living together with 3 of your close friends isn't as easy as it always seems. Sometimes we get on each others nerves and sometimes we make each other upset and sometimes we're just plain sick of each other. But we always seem to work it out and in the end, I wouldn't want to be living with anyone else.
-There are going to be days when you literally feel like Heavenly Father completely forgot about all the other trials you were going through and just decided to give you 500 more. Some days you'll feel like there's no possible way you can hurt that much and still survive. But I promise, you'll make it through that awful day. And the next one, and the next one. Just keep holding on. Elder Holland said something to the effect of "If you can't move forward, just stand where you are." Sometimes, that's enough.
-The Spirit doesn't speak through fear or sadness. If you feel afraid and uneasy about something, it probably isn't the right choice. The voice of heaven is the voice of happiness and joy. Usually that joy leads to me bouncing off the walls in excitement.
-GO TO THE TEMPLE. You will never ever regret it. Everything is clearer inside its walls.
-The bishop isn't scary. In fact, he gives the best advice and can help you with anything you need. He understands and he loves you, and he'll make sure you know that God loves you too.
-Megan is an angel sent from heaven. She is the kindest, sweetest person you'll ever meet and puts everyone above herself. She's the greatest example and I love her dearly. One day I was having the worst day ever and I was just crying and throwing a major fit and Megan comes in at 11 and says: "Hey Kenz will you go to Walmart with me?" I'm like uhhh ok Meg, whatever. And we get there and she says: "Pick anything that you want that would make you feel better." And so we bought some Ben and Jerrys ice cream and talked in the parking lot. I love Megan.
-Chloe is the best listener and she understands me so well. She's been one of the biggest blessings I've ever received, I'm not quite sure how I survived without her. She lets me cry to her and gives me advice and she stays up all night watching movies with me. Plus me and her have almost the entire EW rap by Jimmy Fallon memorized. "Seriously?"
-Kat is the best roommate I could've asked for. She never stops making me laugh, we can stay up talking all night, and we're both absolutely disgusting and immature. It rocks. Plus, she loves bowling just as much as I do.
-Jerk Theory, High School Musical, and Hitch are always good choices of movies. And The Proposal literally never gets old.
-I don't think we can go one day without talking about poop. Actually, I KNOW we can't go one day without talking about poop.
-As soon as you make a good decision and have an amazingly spiritual day, Satan will do EVERYTHING to try to get you to doubt yourself, your abilities, and your answer. Just read the scriptures and eat some ice cream.
-My english teacher is a WEIRDO. She doesn't show up half the time, she made us listen to Nirvana at the beginning of class because she "woke up weeping wanting to listen to it." Oh boy.
-Institute isn't so much about the lessons as it is about the endless jokes Chloe and I make about our crazy teacher and the homies in our class. I've burst out laughing a few times from her texts. "I think I need to take you to the horse-pital."
-Stats is so HARD. Thank goodness that Ethan Garlick still answers my phone calls and helps me with my homework.
-History of Rock and Roll is actually a freaking awesome class. My teacher is awesome and it's pretty cool to get to jam out in class.
-My psychology teacher thinks it's fun to just read from the textbook for an hour and a half and call that class. Woohoo.
-I love my communications class, it's seriously so much fun.
-After much (MUCH) prayer I finally have declared myself to be a BIOLOGY major and become a teacher and a coach. I'm seriously SO EXCITED ABOUT IT I CAN'T EVEN HANDLE IT.
-Chase is still so great and nice and I just like him A LOT. And he thinks he's so funny which I think is funny and yeah. I miss him.
-I freaking love doing Sudoku puzzles. It's so stress relieving and nerdy.
-Basketball games are seriously so fun.
-The college life really is the best life. There are sucky days and there are great days but I LOVE USU. Seriously every day on campus I'm just overwhelmed with gratitude that I get to go to such an amazing school and that I've met such amazing people.

And here are some talks that have literally saved me these last few months:

"Take advantage of every opportunity to learn and grow. Dream dreams and see visions. Work toward their realization. Wait patiently when you have no other choice. Lean on your sword and rest a while, but get up and fight again." -Elder Holland

WOOHOO GO AGGIES and yay for the adventures of Kat and Chlo and Meg and Kenz. Peace out, girl scout.
