{What Do I Even Title These Things?}

Well sometimes I'm not very good at blogging but it's fine cuz I'm pretty sure my mom and a few young women leaders are the only ones keeping tabs on this blog :) So here we go...

Gave a talk in seminary conference so I naturally took a selfie because 1) My dad teases me about selifies so I thought it'd be funny 2) I actually dressed up. Like at school. And that's a big deal. But my talk went really well. I prayed that I wouldn't cry my eyes out so people could understand me and I could actually convey some coherent thoughts. Well, it worked and I was able to say the things I felt I needed to say and I felt my testimony strengthen and it was a great experience. And if you want a talk to read, Of Things That Matter Most by President Uchtdorf is fantastic and that's what I based my talk on. What matters most: Prayer, Scriptures, Family and ultimately centering your life on Christ. It's the simple things that mean the most.

Temple Thursday. It's a tradition that's been going for 2 weeks now and it's the best thing that's ever happened to the world. Really these 2 people, Katy and Chase, are exactly what I've needed in my life. They make me laugh, they understand me, they're willing to go on adventures, and they listen to my crazy talks about life :)

In Medical Anatomy we are making these creepy models. For hating that class so much it sure makes the blog a lot.

Temple Thursday round 2 with the best kids around. Ian, Alesha, Kaden, me, Chase, Katy. The temple just makes everything better...

We had retro night at a basketball game and wowie we looked good! It was really fun, once we finally found open seats. Our team had a crazy comeback and it was fun to cheer them on!

Had our first 2 indoor track meets! BYU was last week and I ran the mile in 5:41. Which would be good if I hadn't ran that exact time 4 times in a row last season :) This weekend was the Distance Challenge at the Ice Oval and I ran 5:32! It was really fun and I'm excited for this season...

I feel like I haven't taken like any pictures lately but I actually have been doing fun stuff! Chase and I made cookies and delivered them to random people (so funny), we had game night at my house last night, I watched The Great Gatsby and really liked it in a strange twisted way, watched the Titanic (can't get enough Leonardo DiCaprio, right?) and enjoyed it until the freaking ship sinks! I mean, you know it's coming but it's still sad! Did a crazy hard workout with Jackie and some kids from East High. Random, but fun. I, along with every other teenager in the world, got slightly addicted to the game Flappy Bird. With a score of 28, I've kinda given up :)

I'm seriously so lame on this blog post but I can't think of anything to say! Just that I'm happy. "One of the great temptations of life is to spend so much time looking back or so much time looking ahead that we fail to see the opportunity right in front of us." -Elder Holland. I honestly have the hardest time with this but I've been trying a lot harder to just enjoy right now and not worry so much about what's going to happen in the future because lots of it isn't really in control. And Heavenly Father, the one who is in control, is perfect so really He's got my back. And it's all going to be fine. I'm happy to be where I am in my life and I'm thankful for the people I'm surrounded with. The church is true, life is good, the end :)

{Hello 2014. Nice to meet you.}

The last week of Christmas Break and the first week back at school. Let's recap.

 This picture just makes me laugh...

 Took the bro to get smoothies. And a few nights ago he watched Safe Haven with me. Basically, our relationship is progressing. He rocks.

New Years Eve was so much fun! We went to Halea's and ate amazing pizza and a lot of other food. We continued the Zumi Zumi tradition. This year was bad. Almost every person threw it up. That hasn't happened before. It was quality entertainment and my heart was pounding the whole time we were playing. When I drank it I think it was the smell that got me. It smelled like puke and tasted like nasty peppers and ranch. We also played Catch Phrase (another game that gives everyone anxiety) and a few other games that I don't remember the names of.

We all had awesome midnight kisses. (haha we are so funny)

At midnight we all blew obnoxious noise makers and did sparklers and fireworks and just talked and danced around and it was really great fun with really great people. 2013 has been full of constant change and learning and hard times and good times and laughs and cries and friends coming and friends going and it's just been crazy and wonderful and hard. Through it all I've learned that laughing is great. Finding people that make you laugh is the greatest feeling in all the world. Those people change throughout time but God will always bless you with someone to make you laugh. Change is hard, but it's so very good. Just when you think you've lost the best thing in the world, something better comes along. God is real. He loves you. He'll take care of you and He has your back no matter what. He listens to your prayers. Don't stop praying even when you feel like you are awful at telling Him things. It's ok, He knows you're trying. Read your scriptures. They have answers for everything. And if they don't have the answer you're looking for, read a conference talk. I'm convinced Elder Holland and Elder Wirthlin and President Hinckley know me better than I know myself. If things don't seem to work out, be patient, it will be ok. Let yourself have fun. Stop worrying so much about every little thing and just go eat ice cream or watch a movie or go on a date or do what you want because sometimes it's ok to just let life happen. Family is important and they are great. Don't forget to love them and don't forget to spend time with them. 2013, thanks for the memories, the lessons, and everything in between. Bring it on, 2014.

I wore my Utah State sweater that I am obsessed with and I went out to lunch with Rachel. I know Rach from Logan, she was in his FHE group at BYU and I've hung out with her a few times. We've talked lots over the past few months and she's really great. It was fun to hang out with her and talk to her about life and just laugh about Logan and Jackson and she gives really good advice and is easy to talk to. And who doesn't love a good Cafe Rio salad?

Went to see some ice caves in Midway with the fam. Pretty cool. That night I had a sleepover at Emily Allen's with Halea and Lesh and Jackie. We watched the Proposal (which is possibly my all time favorite movie) and talked until 4 AM. It was great and we didn't get any pictures that aren't too embarrassing to post online. We ate great cookies and great food and the next day was Jackie's birthday and we ate waffles and went running and just had fun.

Went to the BYU basketball game with the family last Saturday. I actually do like watching basketball and going to Brick Oven is always fun. It was a good night that helped me focus on family. I love them.

This kiddo is really great. I got to actually talk back and forth with him last week and it was just what I needed. He gives the best advice. So so grateful for Elder Passey.

Just your average day back at school. (You may be able to get me to come to school again but I'm definitely wearing a tshirt.)

Went to the temple for YW on Tuesday and then I got to go again with Jackie on Friday. I love the temple and I hadn't been in far too long. I love how when you're there you can just feel of God's love for you and you know that everyone there is working for the same thing, we're all trying to become more like our Savior. It doesn't matter how close we are because in the temple we are all the same, we are all beautiful and we are all loved by God. I love the temple and the peace it brings.

Flower power. These running leggings are atrocious and so very comfortable. I should wear them with my flower shirt every day.

Jackie and I in our awesome running gear. We've had some quality runs this week. I love Jac and that we can talk about anything and everything.

We wanted to take funny snow adventure run pictures. Success.

Medical anatomy is the worst class ever. But sometimes we get to hold turtles. So I guess that's cool.

Went to the basketball game Friday with these crazy kids (and Kaden and Lesh) and then watched That Thing You Do. We are weirdos. And I'm so very happy to be hanging out with Katy again. I love her so much and she understands me and we just have fun.

Saturday night was dancing with the athletes. Basically the ballroom dance team is paired up with athletes from the school and they learn dances and you vote for who you like most. Meagan and Maddy were in it and it was funny to see them dance :) We went to Macey's afterward and got ice cream and it was a good night. Also. Gotta give a shout out to Chase for being a good friend this week. Our conversations crack me up. We are basically pro at drawing pictures on snapchat by now. Gotta do something during scifi, right? Thanks, Chase, for having my back. And for making fun of me when no one else will :)

A quote to finish off this post:
"While waiting for promised blessings, one should not mark time, for to fail to move forward is to some degree a retrogression. Be anxiously engaged in good causes, including your own development." -Howard W. Hunter

Just keep moving forward.
Talk to you all later.
